We got tired of lies in travel

Glossy promo photos, ratings tuned for promotion, ghost reviews. RawStay was born from a simple wish: to know the truth about a hotel before you book, not after you check in.

Anyone who has ever booked a place online knows the feeling: on the site it's a sunny room with a view, in reality it's a window facing a wall and the hum of an air conditioner. Platforms make money by making hotels look better than they are.

We decided to flip the incentive. Instead of helping hotels sell, RawStay helps guests avoid mistakes. For every hotel we compute a single Reality Index — from signals that are hard to fake: reviews from genuine guests, their candid photos, the consistency of ratings and their tone.

"They're being honest with me" — the only feeling we ever want to evoke.

No advertising pressure. No inflated stars. Just the calm confidence that you're seeing the place exactly as it is.

What we believe

Truth over sales

We don't move a hotel up for money. The Index can't be bought — that's the whole point of the product.

Proof, not promises

Candid guest photos carry more weight than any press kit. We show what real people actually captured.

Honest about not knowing

Few reviews — and we say so: "too early to judge." We don't dress up emptiness with a pretty number.

TRANSPARENCY

How we make money

Honestly and briefly: when you follow our link and book on Booking, the platform pays us a commission. The price is the same for you. This commission has no effect on the index or the order of hotels.

iOur promise: no hotel can pay for a higher spot in the list. If one ever could — we'd stop being ourselves. This is how we earn, and that's all.
